Amy Bell and Valentina Golfieri are a pair of London based dancers and choreographers. Together they make witty and visually striking dance theatre.

As Bell and Golfieri they have created a series of duets which have been performed in the UK, Italy and Russia. Their short work ‘That Was The Time I Stopped’ was selected for Royal Opera House 2 Firsts, for The Place’s 40th birthday celebrations and was picked up by London Graduate Fashion Week. In 2008 they choreographed chamber opera ‘Crossing The Sea’ for Wilton’s Music Hall, picking up a four star review in The Times. They are participants in Sadler’s Wells Summer University 2011-2014 lead by Jonathan Burrows and Emma Gladstone. Amy and Valentina regularly teach technique and choreography at professional, conservatoire and amateur levels.

After reading English Literature at Cambridge University, Amy trained at London Contemporary Dance School, where she completed a BA and an MA, joining EDge07. Amy has worked as performer and rehearsal director for Maresa von Stockert’s Tilted Productions on theatre and site specific productions 2007-12. She has performed in Tino Sehgal’s These Associations at Tate Modern and for Giorgia Nardin, Conor Doyle, Charlotte Spencer, Katie Green and Neon Productions amongst others. Amy participated in ChoreoRoam Europe 2012, a research project for choreographers funded by the European Union Culture Programme, and she is part of The Hunting Lodge choreographic research collective which sprang out of it. Amy lectures in Critical Studies at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

Valentina trained at London Contemporary Dance School obtaining a BA and an MA, joining EDge07. Valentina joined Protein Dance in 2011 for their world tour of LOL (Lots of Love), and also performing in (In)visible Dancing and Pic Nic. Valentina has performed extensively for Frauke Requardt: Electric Hotel (2010/11), Pictures from an Exhibition (2010), Roadkill Café (2008), Jammy Dodgers (2008). She is also a founding member of the Van Huynh Company. Her other performance credits include An Anatomie in Four Quarters with Clod Ensemble (2011), Mischief by Theatre Rites and Arthur Pita (2011), The Bride in Arthur Pita’s God’s Garden (2010) and Megan the Monkey in Will Tuckett’s Thief Of Baghdad for ROH2 (2008). Valentina has also created costume for Sally Marie, Protein Dance and Frauke Requardt.
